Tree Drawings Part 2

More drawings from the Brooklyn Botanical Garden last week. I'm studying different types of trees for a Tree Love Story I'm doing. It's about two trees who want to be together but they are separated by a highway. More concept sketches and boards to come. I'm working on my second draft for the script.

This is a Yellowood Tree. Robust and has many little branches all around.

This is a Pagoda Tree from China and Korea origins. It has huge swooping branches that hang right above the pathway. If I had more horizontal sketchbook space, the branches would extend double/triple the width that is it now.

This is an English Oak. It caught my eye as I was walking down the path. The branches had such a strong silhouette. I had to capture it even though it was gated off in a construction zone.

This is the Cut-Leaf Beech. The branches sweep the ground and the truck has these very Gaudi-like fanciful swirls. A magical find!
